David has a passion for supporting the growth of businesses that strive to address the world’s most pressing sustainability issues. This has led him to direct his efforts in recent years into both renewable energy and the future of food production.
Prior to joining Earth First Food Ventures, David was a Senior Associate in the Corporate Strategy & Development group at Enviva (NYSE: EVA), the world’s largest producer of industrial wood pellets for energy, where he worked on greenfield development of new manufacturing facilities, M&A transactions, process improvement, and developing corporate strategy. Prior to Enviva, he was an Associate at 8F Investment Partners where he supported the funding and launch of Pure Salmon, a global producer of land-based Atlantic Salmon.
Today, David is working to identify and diligence the best opportunities in alternative proteins, novel food technologies, and those startups that will disrupt the legacy food supply chain.
He holds a BA in Economics from Gonzaga University and a Masters in International Economics and Finance from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). He speaks English and some Japanese. David is originally from Seattle and currently resides in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with his fiancée.
